03.04 Slander and Libel

A high school prints a monthly bulletin for students and parents. In it the administrators post the license plates of vehicles they contend have been speeding in the school zone. Several parents sue, stating that they have been unjustly identified.

The school district should be sued by the parents and sentenced to pay whatever the parents are asking. The school district based on this description said they contend that they have been speeding. Unless they actually have proper documentation of tickets or video evidence they cannot give out names of people without their consent because they have not be rightly accused and sentenced themselves of these alleged crimes.
